SUMMARY:Motivational Training for Transport Drivers and Workers

Reckless driving remains one of the leading causes of road crashes in Bangladesh\, largely due to inadequate motivation and limited awareness of its consequences. \nOutcomes\nA total of 697 drivers have received motivational training\, resulting in increased awareness of safe driving practices. The Foundation maintains regular communication with these drivers to reinforce and sustain positive behavioral changes.

However\, their contributions often go unrecognized. Formal recognition can serve as a powerful incentive for others to adopt similar practices. \nOutcomes \nSince 2018\, 400 skilled drivers have received the ‘Skilled Vehicle Driver Award’ in four phases. Awardees have reported a heightened sense of responsibility and social recognition\, which is also influencing others positively. \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Road Safety Campaigns in Educational Institutions
DESCRIPTION:Objective \nTo raise awareness among students\, teachers\, and parents about road safety practices in order to reduce fatalities and injuries involving students. \nSituation Analysis \nStudent fatalities resulting from road crashes are increasing\, often due to reckless driving\, inadequate pedestrian infrastructure\, and low levels of road safety awareness. Young students\, particularly those who riding motorcycles or crossing roads unsafely\, are especially vulnerable. \nOutcomes \nRoad safety campaigns have been conducted in 31 schools and 6 colleges\, significantly increasing awareness among students and teachers regarding safe road-use behavior.

SUMMARY:Women’s Safety Program in Public Transport
DESCRIPTION:Objective\nTo ensure safe and respectful public transportation for women and to provide legal and social support to victims of harassment. \nSituation Analysis \nPublic transport in Bangladesh is often unsafe for women\, who frequently face verbal and physical harassment. In severe cases\, incidents of rape and murder involving transport workers have occurred. Accountability mechanisms and redress systems remain inadequate. \nOutcomes\nA complaint center has been established\, and law enforcement agencies are notified upon receiving complaints. Policy seminars and roundtable discussions have been organized to address the issue at the institutional level. Awareness among transport workers regarding women’s safety has also improved.
