Road Safety Research Program

Objective
To generate evidence-based knowledge and data to support road safety strategies, policy development, and advocacy initiatives.
Situation Analysis
There is a significant shortage of reliable road safety data and analysis in Bangladesh. Without systematic research, it is difficult to design effective interventions or advocate convincingly for policy action.
Outcomes
The Foundation has conducted important research on issues such as:
- Annual economic losses resulting from traffic congestion
- Average vehicle speeds in the capital city
- The proportion of beggars whose disabilities were caused by road accidents
- Identification of accident-prone locations across the country
The Foundation has also published the report “Road Crash Scenario in Bangladesh: The Way Forward,” which has contributed to shaping national-level road safety initiatives.
